Free listings and sponsored visibility

Your first listing for a legitimate business domain is free. No card or payment is required. Free listings begin with £0 confirmed support and can appear in search, Discovery, profiles and relevant directories. A sponsored position is paid advertising, not an endorsement, investment, editorial rating or prize competition. No traffic, clicks, sales or permanent position are guaranteed.

One business, several rankings

Global rankings include all eligible businesses. Category, subcategory, country and city rankings compare the same support total within each group. Subcategories are scoped to their parent category. Cities are scoped to their country. A category within a city compares that category in that city and country. Unknown details do not generate contextual positions. Locations and business descriptions are submitted information, not proof of verification.

Confirmed support and tie-breaking

Rankings are based on total confirmed, non-refunded payments in GBP. Higher support ranks first. Businesses with paid support rank above free businesses. Tied paid support favours the earliest currently approved payment; tied zero-support listings favour the earlier listed date. The website URL is the final deterministic tie-breaker. Filters on the global leaderboard preserve global positions. Dedicated category and location pages show positions within their respective groups. Discovery is ordered independently by listing date or name.

One listing per business domain

ClimbClub combines support for the same canonical business domain. HTTP/HTTPS, www, URL paths, trailing slashes and tracking parameters do not create additional free listings. Historic payment records remain intact and contribute to the domain’s total when approved. Duplicate, fake, abusive or prohibited listings can be removed. Only submit a business you own or are authorised to advertise.

Pay only the additional amount

Existing support is preserved. You may add support through Stripe to climb globally and within your contexts. Target prices calculate the additional amount to surpass the current threshold with a £1 increment, subject to the existing £5 minimum and £10,000 maximum payment in whole pounds. If your position already meets a target, no additional support is required for that target. Prices and rank previews are estimates: competing payments can change positions before confirmation.

Payments and refunds

Payments are one-off, with no subscription. Only securely confirmed payments count. Being outranked does not automatically trigger a refund. Contact support about duplicate charges, technical failures or service problems. Applicable statutory rights are unaffected. Refunded or disputed payments are excluded from ranking under the existing payment reconciliation rules. A payment never purchases identity verification.

Your business and claims

Do not list unlawful, deceptive, adult, hateful or malicious content. Listings may be removed for these reasons. Paying for a business cannot change its existing name or description. Use Claim Business to request control or corrections. Claims are recorded as pending for operator review and do not automatically grant editing access. Knowing a URL or providing an email does not verify ownership. Only a completed verification process may result in a verified status.

Privacy and performance data

Business profile details and confirmed support are public. Optional submission and claim emails are kept private for business administration. Stripe handles payment details; ClimbClub stores listing information, payment references, amounts and dates to operate rankings and reconcile refunds. Card numbers are not stored by ClimbClub.

From Phase 2 onward, profile visits and outbound website clicks are counted at most once per network address per business per day for each metric. Obvious bots are filtered where feasible. Counters use one-way hashed daily identifiers rather than storing raw network addresses; shared networks may be undercounted. Submission rate limits use hashed network identifiers. These are internal measurements, not independently audited audience figures. Trending uses deduplicated profile views (one point) and outbound clicks (three points) from the past seven days, with at least five recorded interactions per business.

Contact the operator about access, correction or deletion. Payment records may need to be retained for accounting and disputes. Listing contact details do not confer ownership. Business logo URLs may be loaded from the third-party host supplied by the submitter.

Referrals and Climb Credits

Verified business owners can share a referral link. Referral tracking is active; financial rewards and Climb Credits are not active. No referral changes a rank or creates support. A qualified referral is a new canonical business independently verified as owned by someone other than the referrer. Self-referrals and duplicate domains are excluded. Sponsored conversions count approved payments linked to the referred business; attribution is not a promise of payment or reward.

Optional analytics and cookies

Optional first-party analytics starts only after you allow it. The cc_consent cookie remembers your choice for one year. With consent, cc_visit stores a random browser identifier for up to 30 days. We record a landing path without query strings, referrer hostname, limited campaign labels, referral code and first/last acquisition source. No advertising trackers are added. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track suppress optional analytics.

You can reject analytics without losing free listings, checkout or other core features. Use Cookie settings to change your choice. Withdrawal removes the browser attribution cookie. Detailed optional visitor and event records are retained for up to 90 days; recorded listing/referral and checkout attribution can remain with the related business or payment record for platform administration. Prior consented records are not erased automatically by changing a cookie preference; contact the operator for an access or deletion request. Consent refusal, blocked cookies, shared devices and cross-device use limit attribution accuracy.

Operational events and public statistics

Real listing creation, claim decisions, checkout creation and payment confirmation are recorded to operate the service. Without optional analytics consent these events do not carry a browser attribution identifier. The operator sees private aggregated acquisition reports. Public statistics contain aggregate business, location and activity counts, never customer emails, owner identifiers or payment references. Rank-change counts can include several contextual changes from one payment.

Badges, certificates and verification

Discovery badges identify free discovery positions; Sponsored badges require confirmed support. Dated share cards and certificates record the position at generation or the recorded achievement date. Positions can change. Their public verification links show the current position. A verified business badge means ownership was checked; it is not an editorial endorsement or a ranking advantage. External platforms may cache older link previews or badge images.

Moderation and corrections

Report suspected duplicates, spam, incorrect details or broken links from a business profile. Only the authenticated operator can hide or restore a listing and correct category or location data. Payment records and recorded history are preserved. Duplicate merging is reviewed manually. Broken-link reports do not automatically remove businesses.

Frequently asked questions

Can I stay free? Yes. There is no obligation to upgrade.

Does payment mean a business is better? No. Financial support buys ranked visibility; it is not an independent judgment of quality.

Do I pay again for each ranking? No. One business support total contributes to every applicable comparison group.

Can I update an existing business? Submit a pending claim or correction request from its profile and contact the operator. Ownership must be checked before changes are approved.
